Website Version 2.1

all technologies

It's been six months since we launched our new website and what an impact it has had. We've been monitoring usage, and since the launch, we are experiencing a good steady stream of visitors.

Some interesting statistics include:

  • 1,700 visitors per month
  • 4,500 page views per month
  • 1,000 new visitors per month

This is also more interesting when you realise that 500 of these visitors are outside of the UK, so we're getting a good stream of website guests from all over the world. This has also been reflected in our overseas membership which has increased by a whopping 55% in 6 months.

Coupled with this, we've found that our "mobile strategy" of ensuring a good experience on all screen sizes is paying dividends.............

Southern National Rally 2015

Buckinghamshire Railway Centre

 30 August 2015

This year we've been scratching our heads to come up with an idea that would bring greater numbers of Club members to our National Rallies. If the press are to be believed, the traditional "park up in a field" is going out of fashion and Club members have higher expectations for what constitues a good day out. We are also very conscious of some of the comments that we've received about how expensive it can be to come to a show with the family.

This year, we have teamed up with our friends in the Joint Rover Clubs - the Rover P4 Guild, who host the second longest running Rover show ever in the UK at The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Quainton. This show has been running since 1979 and continues to attract a large number of guests.........

Free P6 Event at Motorcycle Museum & AGM

Over the Winter season, there are very few outdoor car shows and many of those who don’t use their P6 every day get less of a chance to drive it over the Winter.

We're wanted to do something about that, so we're laying on free entry to the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull for all club members on Sunday 30 November from 10:30am. Bring your membership card to get in to the museum for free - we want to gather as many P6s as possible in the car park for this informal Winter meet.

On the day, we will also be holding the Club's AGM.

Practical Classics to 'relaunch' the P6 at NEC

Rover P6 Re-LaunchThis weekend at the NEC Classic Motor Show the Club will be relaunching the Rover P6 to the press and public as the defining sports saloons of the 60s and 70s.

We are championing the P6 as one of the most attainable and advanced performance classics you can buy today - in fact, the most technologically advanced British saloon of the period.

We are pleased to announce that Practical Classics' Danny Hopkins and Sam Glover will be the face of the relaunch when they present the ceremony, which will take place at midday on Friday 14 November..............

SelectaDNA Offer from FBHVC

Being a member club of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs enables us to bring this offer to all members of the Rover P6 Club. The FBHVC is endorsing the SelectaDNA product which you can use to securly mark your car. This product is different to other marking products in that each bottle of liquid is unique. Suspended in the colourless liquid are tiny microdots which carry a DNA code that can be quickly read by the Police. Application takes only a few minutes and once applied your vehicle is invisibly marked for life. It is visible under ultra violet light and can be decoded by the Police. Your unique DNA code is held on a central database so that your property, once identified, can be returned to you.
