2014 Northern National - Bowes Museum

The Northern National Rally took place at Bowes museum in County Durham on Sunday 18th May. After the success of the jointly-organised Jubilee Rally at Coughton Court last year, we decided to work with the Rover Sports Register for this event as well. What a good decision that was. Out of 75 entrants, a good 15 were RSR members with their early Rover vehicles, making for a good selection of models, the oldest being a 1934 P2 owned by lan McCarroll.

We did not have plans to do a road run but when 4 RSR members asked if anything was happening on the Saturday afternoon, we were only too pleased to organise a road run, which was a success with  13 cars taking  part. We left Bowes Museum and made for Shildon Railway Museum, a run of around 15 miles.

We received excellent feedback from all those who attended the event, and Bowes Museum have said we are very welcome to stage the event there again next year. As such, it is very likely we will be returning, with the RSR if they choose to join us.
