The Rover P6 Club has been shortlisted for the National Car Club Awards 2016 being held at the NEC on 5 March during the Practical Classics Restoration and Classic Car Show.
The awards we have been shortlisted for are:
Outstanding Website of the Year
Outstanding Use of Social Media
Our website is the result of thousands of hours work by Club volunteers developing it from the ground up and making sure it works on all platforms including your phone and tablet, integrating it with the cloud (we use Google) for our events diaries and social media platforms. We were recognised as the best in November at the Classic & Sports Car Club Awards, but the competition continues to get better and better.
Our social media presence is more than just a Facebook group, all our posts pull visitors back to our website, our eNewsletters embrace sharing articles to then bring people back to our website. All of this extends the reach of Club to promote the Rover P6 and The Rover P6 Club. On Facebook, we also supported Ranald White on the Monte-Carlo Historique, running a Facebook Messenger group of 9 technical experts on hand to give Ranald advice and support throughout the Rallye, and regularly summerising Ranald's progress with his photographs along the way.
Both of these awards are in areas which we have made great strides in over the last year or so. Many of you will have seen our highly successful Facebook group where we are fostering the community of Rover P6 enthusiasts, and we hope that many of you also follow us on Twitter. Both of these channels have contributed enormously to huge growth that the club is currently experiencing and so you can expect us to branch out further into different social media channels over the coming year including Instagram, Flickr and Pinterest. Simply using these platforms is something that we do our utmost to avoid, we want to be able to used them for the benefit of the whole community and the Club, so we're working on how we include them in our overall online strategy first.
The number of awards we have won over the past three years is incredible, putting ourselves forward like this helps to promote the club, showcase our acheivements, and help bring awareness of how the Rover P6 Club is managed for the benefit of the whole community. The awards also help to keep us on our toes and strive for further success because to win more awards, means we have to up our game every year.
We hope you will join us at the Practical Classics Restoration Show at the NEC on 5/6 March, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter to find out if we were successful on the night.
